Liv read the message a few times before she replied. Fine. Meet me in the park. was all she sent. She didn't want to be in his house nor him to be in hers - not like this at least. She pulled on a long, navy blue trench coat before heading out. She didn't know what he wanted to talk about but she wasn't exactly expecting anything good to come of it. And so she hadn't bothered with make up or hair, it was thrown back in a messy ponytail and beneath her long jacket she had on cropped joggers and a tee. Yes. Very different from all the times he'd seen her before.
Liv took a seat on the bench by some trees to await him, watching Gage when he finally showed and approached her. Though she said nothing, going to let him start with any talk they would be having. Her heart ached when he was near however and that made her sigh deeply, staring at her lap, her hands clasped. This was so very hard for her.

Gage wasn't even sure what to say exactly. He did find someone to talk to though so he thought that maybe he should let her know at the very least what he found out. As he approached her, he had almost hesitated and turned around. Not out of fear no, but out of the fact that this was equally hard for him. She was still the girl he loved. He still didn't know the other side of her but he knew the part about her that she had showed him.
He carefully sat beside her, not too close to invade her bubble of space but not too far apart. It took him a good moment before he could find the courage to talk to her. "I um... found a witch to talk to here in Chicago.." He mumbled, feeling weird talking about this. Until Liv revealed her secret, he hadn't known anything like this had existed. Of course, there wasn't much to talk about with the witch. She had known what he was as soon as he was close enough. She admitted to not liking him so close because she felt psychically clouded but she listened to what he had to say. And she told him what he wanted to know...
"Apparently, I'm some kind of... nulling witch. I negate certain types of... powers." He ran his hand through his hand, sighing softly. He looked at her, biting his lip. How would she take this? There was more he wanted to say but he didn't know if he could.

Liv listened intently as he spoke, nodding a little. She was of course not all that surprised - surprised enough that he had a power, though not by what it did. She had learned from experience after all. "Oh. Makes sense doesn't it?" she said softly, still watching her hands. Though he knew now she was telling the truth, she couldn't see how that could get them back together - after all, whether he had powers or not did not change the fact she was a demoness. Liv bit her lip, risking a glance at him before looking back to her hands. "Well, at least now you understand it." she said and nodded, getting up from the bench. "I'm sorry you had to find that out." she said quietly before walking away, heading back toward her home.
She hugged her arms around herself. She assumed he'd told her so she could understand why her powers stopped when he was near her. And now she did. It felt almost foolish to her to think that she had thought it was because of how strongly she felt about him, believing it was probably her heart clouding her mind. It almost saddened her to realize that wasn't the reason. She would have preferred thinking that feelings were so powerful they could effect something like that.

Gage frowned as he watched her get up and start to leave. He didn't want her to go. Hell, he never wanted to see her leave again. He swallowed hard, past the lump in his throat that was a mixture of emotions. Pride, anger, sadness... "Liv... Please, wait..." He called, getting up and walking up to her. He wasn't sure how to get it out and he wasn't sure if he could truly live with the fact that neither of them are human. He had been taught that things that weren't human were... bad. So what did that make him? It was all too confusing.
"I still love you Liv... Nothing has changed that..." There, he said it. He watched her, frowning to himself. "I still am not sure if I know who the other side of you is but I guess I can't really get to know that, can I? Sort of my fault.." He sighed and swallowed again, nervous and just wanting things... right. "I understand if you can't forgive me... I was a real jackass..."

Olivia looked back as he asked her to wait though she shook her head as he spoke of how he'd been an ass. "It's.. not that. I just .. have to go, Gage. I need to sort my head out, I don't think it would be a good idea to get back together right this very second." she said softly, sighing softly. "I'm sorry. I'll .. I'll call you later." she murmured and quickly walked away from him, heading home.
She wanted to get back with Gage, she really did. But she had to ho home and think about how it would work. She was a demon and he, well, basically was a wizard. A wizard who could disable her power. But she did love him. a lot. Though she needed to decide if she could be with him, knowing that when she'd been around him too long and he left, she lost control of her power and wasn't able to decide if she wanted men to take an interest. How would Gage feel? If she went to the store herself and ended up being followed around by various males who wanted a piece of her?
Olivia sighed and got home quickly before resigning herself to her bedroom, laying on her bed to ponder.

Gage watched her sadly and sighed, sitting back down for some time. It was... discouraging to say the least. After a bit, he got up and went home, hands in his pocket. Once there, he put in one of his frozen meals and sat at his table to wait for it to cook. He didn't think he could honestly eat but hell, he knew if he didn't it would just make things worse for him at work. So he forced down the food before getting ready for work.
He hadn't wanted to go but he needed to. Distractions helped...

Olivia laid there for quite some time before finally getting her ass up. She went about making herself dinner, something simple however. Not in the mood to really cook. Though as he pasta cooked she looked to her cellphone, picking it up and typing out a message for Gage. Hey. I'm sorry for running off like that, just needed to think. My place for dinner tomorrow? Then we can talk properly? - She paused before adding another word Please? then she hit send.
She wanted him back, of course she did. Though she may not have been so keen to invite him over if she had known her father would make his first appearance in to her life the following day. And he had plans for his daughter. Oh yes. And even more so for her "human" boyfriend..

Gage had seen the text during his break as he munched on potato chips (healthy). He thought for a moment, though there was no hard decisions to make. He knew he wanted to go and be there with her... So he of course replied with a yes and went about the rest of his work night. He luckily had the day off tomorrow so that he could go.
It was close to dinner time the next day when Gage showed up, dressed nicely of course. He had debated for hours on whether to bring her a gift or what not. Would it seem like bribery? So he compromised and got a single rose, hoping she didn't mind too much. Soon he was at her door, knocking while nervously running his hands through his hair.

Though it was not Olivia who answered the door. A tall man with dark hair and a similar complexion to Liv was standing there. "Oh hello. You must be Gage. Do come in." he said and stepped back, letting him in and leading him to the living room where Olivia sat on the sofa. She looked up at Gage sadly.
The man spoke again, "Take a seat, Gage." he said and pointed to where Olivia sat."So, Olivia, you will be continuing my family line. But, well, since you're female. We need some help with that. That's where you come in Gage. Getting her pregnant through your pathetic "love making" is no good." he said, leaning on the bookcase behind him.

Gage frowned, confused as to who the man was when he answered the door. He could only make a few educated guesses but aside from that, he didn't take it to well. He followed him inside anyways and saw Olivia in the living room.
It wasn't until he heard the part about Liv becoming pregnant that Gage reacted. "Woah, sir. If I may, me and Liv haven't even... I mean... We're not even together right now. And I don't think kids have occurred to either of us..." He said, watching the guy and then looking to Liv with worried eyes. "And there is only one way to make a baby, sir. I'm a doctor and asides from artificial insemination... You have to have sex to do it." He said, narrowing his eyes.

He smirked a bit at Gage's talk. "I'm aware of how babies are made. That's not what I meant. And your relationship is irrelevant. I'd be taking it anyway. Listen, kids. Demons are born through pain. Suffering. Destruction. Blood." he said, taking cigarettes from his pocket and lighting one. "What I mean is, they can't be conceived in your natural 'i wuv you' sex. It has to hurt. It has to be unwanted." he said and shrugged.
Olivia shook her head, looking to Gage then to her so called father. She so did not intend to go through with this. Ever.

Gage stared at him, waiting for him to say that he was joking or something. Anything. When there was nothing else, Gage clenched his hands into fists. He was crushing the rose unfortunately and roses have thorns. "I will not do anything to hurt Liv for your own selfish desires. Nor will I let you arrange for her to be hurt by someone else." He said, scowling at the man. "I think you've overstayed any welcome you've had in your daughter's house sir." He shook his head, only then glancing down to see the little trickle of blood from his hand.

Olivia had put her hand to Gage's arm as he told her father to leave. "It's okay. Don't. He's dangerous." she said softly. Her father had nodded to his daughters words and smirked. "Silly boy, you've already hurt her, haven't you? And you've bled for her. And all I need now? Well, that's simple." he said and took a draw from the cigarette. Oh, it was going to be so simple.
Though Olivia would disagree. But she might be wrong, we'll wait to see.

Gage didn't care if the man was dangerous or not. He shrugged off her arm, only to step closer to the man. "Leave." He said, not amused by forcing this decision upon either of them. He wasn't going to have it. Even if that meant getting hurt. It was one of those times that he wished he carried a gun though. It was tempting. However, he wouldn't resort to violence unless he absolutely needed to.

Liv frowned as he shrugged her off. Though her father just smiled, even more as Gage told him to leave. "Mmm, I see. Well, I will leave for now. But I will be back in a few hours." he smiled, "Remember, make love, not war." he said and chuckled before leaving.
Liv looked at Gage, she'd seen the blood on his hand and got up, going to get her first aid kit so she could clean the thorn wounds on his hand. She came back and silently sat down, only speaking after a moment. "Hand please." she murmured.
